Baji quan is a fightning style that was originally called Bazi Quan (rake fist) due to it short hands, elbow - shoulder striking emphasis and to its downward emphasis. As often done, when the poets and philosophers got a hold of it, they felt the name was too crude and changed it to BaJi Quan, after the I-ching with a modern 'extend in all directions' translation.
